High-resolution images (tar file) for TNG50-1 SKIRT

Hi!

I am currently working on my Bachelor's Research Thesis and would like to apply my CNN (trained on Galaxy Zoo images) on the TNG50-1 'SKIRT Synthetic Images and Optical Morphologies' catalog. Unfortunately, when I download the tar file (http://www.tng-project.org/api/TNG50-1/files/skirt_images_sdss.99.tar) and open it in VSCode, I get mostly unusable images. They are very blurry, pixelized, and a lot are only big grey blurs (which I suppose are galaxies too zoomed in).

Converting the images to the same format as my original dataset (RGB + some basic transforms) only makes things worse. When first researching the dataset, I saw ideal images, so I can only wonder if I am doing something wrong. Should I be downloading the data differently, or is there some step I am missing in the extraction process?

Thank you for your help in advance!

Perhaps you can show a particular subhalo ID image?
