Utilising IllustrisTNG Information for Research on Galaxy Formation

Hello Everyone,

I'm excited to use the IllustrisTNG data for my dissertation because I'm working on a project that entails analysing galaxy formation and evolution. Even though I've looked over some of the evidence, I remain with a few enquiries that I'd want to see answered.

Choosing the Correct Simulation: I study galaxies with masses between 10^10 and 10^12 solar masses. What IllustrisTNG simulation (TNG100, TNG300, or TNG50) might be best suited for a thorough examination within this mass range, in your opinion? Are there any particular benefits or drawbacks I should consider before choosing one over another?

Retrieving Star Formation Histories: The star formation history (SFH) of galaxy are of special interest to me. Could someone please advise me on how to get the most out of the simulation's SFH data? Although I am familiar to the Subfind catalogue, I could appreciate some guidance on best practices for handling temporal data.

Handling Baryonic Physical Data: For smaller galaxies, how trustworthy are the gas characteristics and other baryonic physics data found in IllustrisTNG? Are there any recognised restrictions or warnings that I should be aware of while interpreting this data, especially for higher redshift galaxies?

Tools for Visualisation: I've seen some really beautiful visualisations made with Illustris data. Which packages or programs are good for illustrating the evolution of galaxies, especially in Python? Any guides or materials that will assist me in getting started with these visualisations would be really appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your help and support.

Impressive, first example of AI generated spam. (It included an unrelated embedded link which I have removed). I leave it here for posterity.
